      What is Citrulline?

Citrulline is a classified nonessential amino acid that is neither a component of any major proteins or enzymes. It provides for processes related to the production of energy in the body, and is responsible for the proper functioning of the immune system. Because of the nonessential nature of citrulline, it may not need to be consistently ingested from any dietary sources. Citrulline is a very unusual amino acid. A variety of biological and chemical reactions define citrulline. This amino acid is formed in the urea cycle with the addition of carbon dioxide, forming ornithine. The process continues as ornithine is combined with aspartic acid to form arginosuccinic acid, which is then further metabolized to the most humanly bioavailable form, L-arginine. This critical transformation, of citrulline to arginine, is fundamental for maintaining the homeostasis of certain toxicities within the body. Arginine itself is a key component in the formation of urea in the liver. The process of removing nitrogen metabolites from the body are directly dependent upon citrulline's conversion to arginine. Citrulline, aspartic acid, citric acid, and magnesium work synergistically to remove excessive nitrogen build-up, and aid in the digestion, absorption, and metabolic processes of specific proteins.

What are the benefits of taking Citrulline?

Citrulline has been shown to relax blood vessels, improve blood flow and raise overall nitric oxide levels. Many bodybuilders take citrulline with their pre and post workout drinks to help improve recovery, increase vascularity and improve muscle pumps throughout the day and following a training session.

One study found 5,600mg of citrulline daily for 7 days in healthy men was able to improve blood flow secondary to nitric oxide. The improvement in blood flow was correlated with the serum increases in arginine.

      Recommended dose:

3000-8000mg taken 60 minutes before exercise

Does Citrulline have any side effects?

Citrulline appears to be well tolerated by most individuals and does not have any known side-effects.

      Great Product/Small Container

The product is excellent but the container is a bit small. A two-month supply would be better.

L- Citrulline a good fit for me.

A few years ago I cut back on the number of supplements I was taking and refined it down to those I thought were best for me. My other thoughts were if I am going to spend money on supplements then they’re going to be of the best quality available. Of those I do purchase are almost exclusively from MuscleFeast.
My use of L-Citrulline might be different from most? I don’t consume in relation to my workouts but rather as an afternoon drink mixed with MuscleFeast’s MFXEAA (Tangerine flavor) on ice.
It’s refreshing, and great tasting to borrow from an old line... and something I look forward to each day. On a side note; I’m already someone who is naturally quite veiny and have been all my life but when I drink this cocktail I resemble one of those “Human Circulatory Charts.” It’s not something I was trying to achieve but it’s definitely noticeable and there’s no head rush or buzzing with it either.
I actually think it helps me sleep better at night too. If that’s the case it’s worth every nickel. Thanks

      Hiking Endurance

I’m a 68 yr old hiker and push-up enthusiast. I had to take a break from hiking for 2weeks but continued my 300 push-ups a day. I use your Free Form L-Citrulline every day as part of my pre-workout. When I started back to hiking, I was concerned that I might not make it through the whole hike. I hike with my brother here in San Diego, Ca. There is a trail that people hike in preparation for Mt Whitney. This hike is a fairly extreme hike due to the incline of the trail. We made it to the top and I was no worse for the the wear and tear. I had no problems and felt great!!! Usually it would have been a brutal endeavor with that much time off, but I basically breezed up Cowles Mt., my legs were fine and my breathing was non-labored. I give all the credit to your product. My endurance didn’t waver and my muscles never cramped, thank you!
