Branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) is the name given to three of the nine essential amino acids needed to make protein: leucine, isoleucine and valine. They are called branched-chain because their structure has a ‘branch’ off the main trunk of the molecule. The combination of these three essential amino acids makes up approximately one-third of skeletal muscle in the human body. In order to get energy, the body can actually break down muscle to get these BCAAs. Therefore, by supplying them during or after a workout, muscles and other tissues are spared from breakdown, which occurs as a natural part of metabolism.
L - Glycine
L-Glycine is an amino acid produced by the body. Primary dietary sources for glycine are protein-rich foods, including fish, meat, dairy, and legumes. While it is not considered an "essential amino acid," glycine has proven itself to be one of the most beneficial amino acids.
It has been used to treat a wide array of ailments, including impaired cognition, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and metabolic syndrome. One of the critical components of living a healthy lifestyle is making sure that you make time to rest and recover. Some individuals that have mild sleep deprivation have reported better sleep quality after taking 3g of Glycine one hour before bed; however, taking glycine throughout the day with meals will not cause drowsiness.
CarnoSyn® Beta Alanine
CarnoSyn® Beta-alanine (BA) is a version of the amino acid alanine which serves as the precursor to carnosine (β-alanyl-L-histidine) in skeletal muscle. Supplementing with BA is a highly effective means of increasing muscle carnosine content. Increased muscle carnosine helps buffer the negative side effects of hydrogen ion accumulation in muscles as exercise intensity increases.
For untrained populations, Beta Alanine is reported to increase total work done, time to exhaustion, and physical working capacity at the fatigue threshold during exercise performed at maximal and supramaximal intensities. For the trained athlete, BA may also be beneficial for anaerobic, high intensity efforts of short duration. Improvement in muscular endurance has been observed in experienced resistance trained men supplementing with BA, which led to an increase number of repetitions and total volume lifted per workout. In short, BA supplementation appears to allow people to work harder for longer (in events lasting 1-4 min) before fatiguing.
Improve electrolyte balance in athletes, or anyone engaged in physical activity.
Eliminate painful muscle cramps. Additionally, it can eliminate deficiencies in Calcium, Phosphorous, Iodine, Chloride, B3, B6, B12, Magnesium, Sulfur, Boron, Sodium, Potassium, and Zinc.
B Complex (B1,B3, B6, B12)
This Vitamin B complex is designed to increase metabolism and mental cognition.
Green Tea Extract
Green Tea Extract (45% EGCG) is abundant in polyphenols, known to reduce inflammation in the human body. It can even help to fight cancer cells, making it a go-to antioxidant for individuals seeking a lifestyle that promotes longevity. Besides its well-known benefits, Green Tea Extract contains a specific antioxidant called catechin or epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). This product includes a green tea extract that is 45% of the powerful compound of EGCG, making it one of the highest grades of green tea extract.
Vitamin C is an essential vitamin and acts as a powerful antioxidant protecting against free-radicals that attack the body. Supplementing with Vitamin C can promote heart health, plus muscle, cartilage, and bone strength. Additionally, it has been shown to help support the healing process, resulting in shorter recovery times.
